Senior Electrical Engineer


Job Description

We are currently in search of an Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team in Den Haag, Netherlands. The preferred candidate should possess a proven background in brownfield and greenfield projects within the downstream refinery and chemical/petrochemical sectors.As an Electrical Engineer, your primary role will involve supporting the client in shaping future project scopes and drafting technical documentation. You will demonstrate proficiency in delivering specialized outputs across various project stages, spanning from front-end engineering design (FEED) to detailed engineering, catering to projects of diverse scales.

Key Responsibilities / Qualifications:
•    Hold a B.Sc / MSc in Electrical Engineering.
•    Demonstrated expertise in power generation and LV/MV distribution systems, particularly in executing medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) switchboard (SWB) replacement projects.
•    Desirable site experience, encompassing construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
•    Comprehensive experience in electrical engineering and design throughout the project lifecycle, covering concept design, FEED, and detailed design for brownfield projects.
•    Sound knowledge and comprehension of international codes, standards, and European Directives such as IEC, EN, IEEE, and ATEX.
•    Familiarity with Dutch NEN codes and standards.
•    Proficient in reviewing power system studies (load flow, short-circuit current, and motor starting) using tools like ETAP or Vision, with the ability to scrutinize all calculations necessary for electrical equipment sizing and selection.
•    Proven track record in various electrical tasks, including drafting equipment specifications, requisitions, data sheets, construction packages, electrical sub-contracts, technical bid evaluations, material estimates, document quality checks, and interpretation of circuit diagrams and schematics.
•    Willingness to provide technical support for on-site activities, with flexibility for site assignments.
•    Participation in inspections and factory acceptance tests (FATs).
•    Proficiency in Dutch is advantageous.
•    Minimum of 7 years of relevant discipline experience.
