Job Description
Site Engineer – 18 – 24 months – Malaysia
Location: Malaysia
Start Date: September 2024
Company: multinational conglomerate that produces fire, HVAC, and security equipment for buildings. As of mid-2019, it employed 105,000 people in around 2,000.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site supervision of construction activities, including monitoring progress, inspecting workmanship, and ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure that construction work meets or exceeds engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site, conduct regular safety inspections, and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment and resolve any site-related issues that may arise.
- Provide technical support to project teams, including interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, resolving technical queries, and implementing engineering changes as required.
- Prepare daily progress reports, documenting work activities, site conditions, and any deviations from the project schedule or specifications.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and construction issues in a timely and efficient manner, collaborating with project teams to develop effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, permits, test reports, and as-built records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role, preferably in industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as building codes and regulations.
- Familiarity with construction management software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) is a plus.
