Senior Platform Engineer is required for a European leader in cloud implementation, application development and managed services. You will be working for one of their leading Healthcare providers responsible for Software engineers applying solid engineering principles to analyse, design and develop new and modified software components to meet customer needs and expectations.

Requirements:

• Owns the cloud platform to ensure it is properly configured, stable and that changes are made in a controlled way.
• Design, build and maintain core infrastructure.
• Owns CICD pipelines for integration and deployment to make the process as uneventful as possible.
• Promotes repeatable actions and automation.
• Debug platform issues across services and levels of the stack.
• Right size and plan the growth of our infrastructure to support our products and services, optimising performance and cost efficiency.
• Monitoring and alerting trigger on symptoms and to prevent outages.
• Produce and maintain relevant, easy to understand and accurate documentation to help colleagues understand and maintain products and services.
• Optimise security of cloud estate.
• Atlassian toolset – JIRA & Confluence.
• Documents activity: run books, checklists to promote relatable activities.
• Automates repeatable, manual tasks.
• Comfortable scripting code e.g., in bash, python etc.
• Able to articulate the extent to which products owned by own squad are managed using IaC and automation.

Technology skills required are:

• AWS Serverless Infrastructure 
• AWS Backup 
• AWS Aurora RDB (Postgres) 
• Terraform and Infrastructure provisioning IaC in the cloud o Gitlab suite (code control + dev-ops CI/CD) 
• AWS Security Hub 
• AWS Inspector 

Preferred:

• DataDog (Full suite inc. monitoring, alerting, RUM and APM). 
• OpsGenie. 
• AWS OpenSearch. 
• OKTA. 
• OWASP.
• Ansible.
• Some familiarity with declarative configuration and formats such as JSON, YAML, XML.
