Automation Specialist

Leap29 are working with an international food processing and packaging business, our client has an opportunity for an Automation Specialist to join them in Hamburg, Germany supporting projects across the DACH region.

In this position you will be responsible for implementing automation upgrades and services within processing and service products.  You will be involved in the development of new product and provide technical support and service to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, Design and implement Automation Upgrades coordinating with engineers, consultants and suppliers
• Compile and review technical documentation
• Provide technical concepts to support pre-projects and sales phases
• Carry out remote support, service and start-ups to processing equipment
• Carry out commissioning of processing equipment
• Work with and fault find on extra low & low voltage systems, Data Base, IO Servers and Scada systems
• Work with various automation platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Wonderware)
• Edit PLC programs and re-commission
• Document service activities and update customer data (equipment and contracts)
• Carry out customer visits in conjunction with new sales and after sales, assisting the local account managers and Service Manager

Requirements:

• University degree in Information Technologies or Automation Engineering with 3-5 years of experience, preferable in liquid food industry
• Thorough knowledge of Automation, MES, Industrial IT and data handling
• Bachelor’s degree qualification or knowledge and experience of automation solutions, electrical or electronic engineering and process control
• Proven understanding of automation platforms and systems design
• Very good knowledge of Siemens, Rockwell and Wonderware software/ equipment
• A very good command of English and fluent German language
• Full driving license
• Available to travel approximately 60% of the time.
