Job Description

Role: Project Engineer

Location: Woking

Position: Permanent

Our client is an engineering consultancy business who are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join their new business unit in Surrey. This is a really great opportunity to be part of the new management team they are building, reporting directly to the VP. The UK Engineering team supports a variety of traditional international energy projects, but the company has a big focus on low carbon / energy transition (CCUS, Green Hydrogen, Blue Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Waste to X, Emissions Reduction). If you never worked on this type of projects, but you have considerable oil and gas experience and a passion for energy transition, we would still love to hear from you.

This is a hybrid role, so you’d have the flexibility to work 3 days from the office and 2 days from home. Some business travel may be required from time to time to client offices, and you may be required to attend site visits as necessary, in accordance with corporate or project requirements.

Main responsibilities:

- Coordinate the interfaces between the Engineering team and the Project Management team and ensure the effective transfer of information between the two

- Participate in the planning and scheduling of the scope of Engineering for the project, and provide inputs to the project technical document register

- Ensure compliance with the company’s ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan and Design Integrity processes and procedures

- Formulate resolutions to technically challenging and/or high-profile issues with support from Engineering/Project services personnel and resolving with Project Management and Client.

- Monitor the engineering progress, address shortfalls, assist in developing recovery plans where required and ensure plans are implemented.

- Assist in the production of the project execution plan and prepare the coordination procedures for the project.

Candidate requirements:

- Master’s Degree in Engineering (essential)

- Chartered status (preferred)

- Related project engineering experience gained in the oil and gas industry

- Team player with a proactive approach

- Ability to meet schedules and deadlines

- Ability to multitask

- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Please note that visa sponsorships are not available at this time, so you must have the right to work in the UK.
